Culture Feed post renders offset on iOS Safari (production)
Reported by Jonna LoPresti from a store meeting the evening of Aug 23, relayed Aug 24. Production, coachpulse.coach.com, mobile Safari with browser chrome visible (not the installed PWA).
What was seen: scrolling the Culture Feed leaves the post shifted left of the viewport, with a white gutter down the right-hand side outside the post. Caption copy is clipped, reading "he Chelsea 30 has my heart, she's so cutie" and ")Coach" where "@Coach" is expected, and the SOCIAL badge is cut at its left edge. Page chrome (Culture Feed header, progress bar, 11 of 12 completed counter, bottom navigation) is unaffected, so the offset sits on the post canvas rather than the document. It did not reproduce on every device at the same meeting.
CONSTRAINT: no device model, iOS version or Safari version is available from the reporting handset, so the plan does not depend on one.
Findings (CoachPulse_CultureFeed_Viewport_QA_Findings_v2.docx):
F1 (P1) post canvas offset left with white gutter at the right
F2 (P1) overlay copy loses its leading characters
F3 (P2) action rail sits inboard of the screen edge
F4 (P2) device and browser detail not obtainable, so the app has to report on itself
Two causes fit equally: horizontal overflow on the feed track, or a residual pinch zoom left on the page. With no device detail they cannot be cheaply separated, so they are treated as one work item.
Plan: reproduce in-house across a small iPhone matrix; if it reproduces, settle it in an inspector session on our own handset; if it does not, instrument the feed so the next report carries visualViewport.scale, visualViewport.offsetLeft, scrollingElement.scrollLeft, innerWidth, user agent and build (scale above 1 is zoom, non-zero scrollLeft at scale 1 is overflow). Ship the change that closes both causes: canvas constrained to the visual viewport, overflow-x hidden with overscroll-behavior-x none on the feed, and touch-action pan-y scoped to the feed container so page-level zoom stays available elsewhere. Verify by absence of offset events across a week of store use.
Presentation defect, not a functional block, so it does not force an out-of-band prod push on its own.
